In April 2022, Howard published two new books, COVID Blues, a novel about almost famous musicians pursuing their muse during a global pandemic, and Europe ‘72 Revisited: 50th Celebration of the Grateful Dead’s Legendary Tour. Howard’s other studies focusing on the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead include, Deadology: The 33 Essential Dates of Grateful Dead History, Dedaology Volume II: The Evolution of 33 Grateful Dead Jam Anthems, Grateful Dead 1977: The Rise of Terrapin Nation, and Positively Garcia: Reflections of the JGB.
Combining expertise on his passions, Howard published Dylan and the Grateful Dead: A Tale of Twisted of Fate in 2017, and Tangled Up in Tunes: Ballad of a Dylanhead in 2012.
